Texas State Rep. Phil King just wants to have a hearing to complain about the Federal governments overreach. There isn't really any problem with that. All government actions should be open to questioning. The hearing is invitation only. This is a sort of thing where the speakers get credibility and can sell their book or promote their show or something. King can go back to supporters and say he is fighting the Federal government. It is a free country.

However, since the Republican Party has pandered to craziness, the Texas Nationalist Movement has an expectation that they should be invited to the hearing.

So they are arranging a big call in to King's office. The link is for the call in.

The Texas Republicans are getting the consequences of their actions.

Words have meanings. A banana isn't a cat. Water isn't lava. Sometimes people to advance their agenda will give words new meanings.

In this case, there is an article that Google has decided not to advertise on some of Philip DeFranco's videos on YouTube.

They aren't denying Philip DeFranco the use of YouTube to show his videos. Google just doesn't want to place advertisements with his videos and so there is a cry of censorship. It simply isn't censorship.

You can print a magazine, or produce a video show or a newspaper, but no one is obligated to advertise with you. I would think an organization that is supposedly free market oriented would understand.

Google is an ad agency for their advertisers and has to consider their customer's wants in terms of placement of their ads. Advertisers probably don't want to appear that they are financially supporting repulsive videos. Google would be remiss to take their money and not be concerned where their advertisements are place.

Since the concept of censorship doesn't seem to be understood by the Lew Rockwell people, I am going to give this tutorial.

1. Government prohibits showing of a film. That is censorship. You don't want to buy a ticket and see the movie. That isn't censorship.

2. Government shuts down "Hustler" magazine. That is censorship. Hallmark cards doesn't want to advertise in that magazine. That isn't censorship.

3. The government threatens my neighbor for his opinions on politics. That is censorship. The local paper won't print his editorials and I always like to go inside when he is outside and looking to talk..Not censorship.

4. My neighbor, a different one, has a play shut down by the government. That is censorship. I don't want to be an extra in it nor see it. Others didn't want to see it either. Not censorship. Local reviewer says it is awful and is still walking up in a cold sweat. Not censorship.

5. An art exhibit is shut down by the police. Not censorship. No one wants to see it. Not censorship.

You have freedom of speech, but people are not obligated to listen nor fund you.

Also, I don't know where the "Quietly" comment comes from. Probably YouTube is reviewing many videos all the time. This isn't covert. DeFranco saw the flagging. What does Lew Rockwell expect to have been done, someone calls on the phone and shout.

I am doing the editing of the chapters. I have written all the chapters and someone has done editing and I am doing the final editing of the chapters.

I expect it will be available in mid-September. I am going to use social media to promote it.

It is written for a general audience and the approach is focused on how neo-Confederacy  impacts everyday concerns of people in general.

Next I am going to write up "Prelude to Texas Secession" cover the story on how conservative Texas legitimized the idea of secession and have led to the secession movement. I have some unique materials. I am also going to write on Texas secession itself briefly including my counter proposals.

I have to get it done and available by the day after election. My expectation is that Hillary Clinton will win, but not by much, and secessionist movements will take off in many localities.

Texas Nationalist movement status

It seems that the Texas Nationalist movement is busy, but nothing big is happening.

I have been letting some of my Hispanic contacts know about this so perhaps there might be a counter protest.

The Texas nationalist movement is doing the usual steady organizing that you would expect such a group would do. They have tables where they can talk to people, websites where people can sign up. In some ways news stories about them and the Republican party and polling on secession sentiment have helped them a lot since I don't think until this year, most people knew they existed.

However, their movement is essentially on hold awaiting the results of the presidential election. If Donald Trump is elected, the Texas nationalist movement is basically halted and there will be declining interest. The discontented ones which make up these secession movement will have great expectations of a Trump presidential administration. Only if at some point there was strong disillusionment with Trump would secession revive. This disillusion would not be that Trump has failed to accomplish what Trump supporters hope Trump would accomplish, but that Trump himself is not working for their reactionary goals. If Trump faced opposition the tendency would be to unite behind him as long as Trump was working for the goals for which he said he would work.

If Hillary Clinton is elected then the Texas national movement really takes off. The leaders of the Texas nationalist movement can't openly hope for a Clinton victory since their future potential support is with Trump supporters. When Clinton sinks in the polls I suspect that their hopes sink also.

I am getting a sense that the presidential election might be that Clinton is declared the winner late next day by a few electoral votes and with only a plurality of voters.

It will be then a double win for secessionists in that Clinton is elected, but she will not be seen as having a strong mandate.

Appropriating the accomplishments of others for your own self-interest

As the lawyer for the defendant, Abusaft said that “I speak for my client” and he was concerned that the shirt and its message were potentially confrontational. The flag shirt and slogan meant to send a message to people, Abusaft said.

But the judge ruled that the woman had stated that she could be fair and impartial, and did not excuse the woman from the potential jury panel. 

Abusaft then chose to use one of his juror “strikes” – both sides have the right to dismiss a certain number of potential jurors when picking a jury. The woman was dismissed from the case and never was seated as a juror.

This is atrocious. The judge needs to be thrown off the bench. I don't see the name of the judge in the article which to me is how "The State" enables neo-Confederacy.

Will the Texas Nationalist Movement repudiate support from white nationalists groups, probably not.

I call upon the Texas Nationalist Movement to reject white nationalists, racists, and other similar ilk.

For example, this is an article by the Council of Conservative Citizens which is obviously in support of the Texas Secession movement. If the Texas Nationalist Movement is to claim that they are not a racist movement let them reject the Council of Conservative Citizens in a straight forward way. Do not make sure legalistic statement that gives you plausible deniability.

If the Texas Nationalist Movement doesn't take effective actions against racists joining their organization I think we know their real agenda. Also, some generic meaningless statement or resolution without  substance is to be laughed at for the transparent ruse that it is.

In 2015 I wrote a certified letter to Bill Clinton asking him to retract his letters of praise for the United Daughters of the Confederacy. I didn't get a reply.

The letters are published in the "United Daughters of the Confederacy Magazine" as follows:

Trump supporters in Texas support secession if Hillary Clinton wins. At least one hostile power has its hopes up.

Public Policy Polling has released the results of a poll in which they included a question about support for secession if Hillary Clinton wins.

For the question, "Would you support or oppose Texas seceding from the United States?" the percentage for secession is 26% and the percentage for staying in the Union is 59%. The article says:

Fortunately for Unionists, a clear majority of 59 percent of Texans said they’d rather stick with the Stars and Stripes, while just 26 percent said they wouldn’t.

I think fortunate would be 95%, expectations have clearly been lowered on this issue.

However when the questions was asked differently the article reports:

But that number dropped when the pollsters followed up by asking whether voters would support secession if Clinton won the election. Forty percent said they would, including 61 percent of Trump supporters.

Russia was quick to pick up on this poll.

The moment that the public takes Texas secession seriously I think that the Confederacy will become intolerable to Americans.

This is all going to be very serious after the American presidential election is called.

I give it about 5 minutes after it is announced that Hilary Clinton is the next president of the United States for the secession movements to start gaining traction.

I think that Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, the secessionist movements will start moving. Probably early in the evening because, if the current polls hold up, Hillary Clinton is likely to be projected the winner early in the evening.

Further with Trump calling for poll watchers there could be inflammatory events where poll watchers and minority voters get into fisticuffs or worse. However, unlike the news articles on this, I don't necessarily see that calling for poll watchers itself is a problem.

Now, having poll watchers is a normal part of democracy and a valuable part of democracy. Observers from both parties ensure that there is a fair election. Also, making sure there isn't fraud should be stringent.

The question that is raised is how Trump supporters might carry out their responsibility as poll watchers. Given the temperament of Trump supporters and the inflammatory nature of Trump's rhetoric it could be that they will be disruptive and attempt to illegally deprive minority voters their right to vote. Also, given that a lot of white nationalists are supporting Trump, it might very well be the result that white nationalists will be disrupting the polls.

Given that cell phones now all have high quality video cameras in them, scenes of fighting at a polling place could be distributed immediately across the country and result in conflicts everywhere. With social media inflammatory rumors and statements would spread across the nation. I don't think we can expect Trump to bring calm to such a developing situation.

I think that after the 2012 election reactionaries and others thought that surely in 2016 they would get a conservative in the White House.

When Trump is defeated by Hillary Clinton it will be realized that there is no possibility for some right-wing turn in the future for America.

Also, being defeated by Hillary Clinton, with her high negative ratings, will especially show that there is no possibility of a reaction or white nationalist future for America.

In this article a professor comments:

Some of these groups, Huffmon said, espouse unsavory philosophies, “a crossover between white supremacists and the militia movement.” But, ultimately, he said, it’s about how the groups spend their time. Talking about their beliefs over beers with their buddies is harmless enough, he said.

I think Huffmon's comments show a failure to understand social movements or the power of language. "Talking" "about beliefs" is how thinking is developed, strategies thought out, identities formed.

It is fewer than 60 days to the election. It won't be long before we know the consequences.

Even Donald Trump wants nothing to do with the Confederate flag.

A person bought a Confederate battle flag with the word Trump on it from a vendor outside a Trump rally in Florida.

When he unfurled it, the Trump campaign and local police moved quickly to have the flag removed.

Secessionists just got a big boost indirectly from Donald Trump

Donald Trump is starting to talk about the election being stolen from him.

Let me first say that I disagree with Boule on one thing. A Trump victory would be an unmitigated disaster. However, there are some real concerns about what Trump is saying about himself being defeated in an election, but no, Trump's election would be worse.

That being said, Boule raises some serious concerns.

Trump is starting to talk about the election being rigged against him. That is the election might be stolen from him. This is really dangerous. When Trump is defeated, which I think will be very likely, it is one thing if people think that he lost by a fair election and another if it was stolen. If people think the election was stolen the anger would be considerable.

As it was, if Trump lost I think there would be a great increase of support for secession, but it would be on the idea of separation to have a local majority different from the rest of the nation which has rejected Trump. However, I think the drive for secession would be intensified with the idea that the election was stolen. Then secessionists would claim that only in a separate polity there would be fair elections. Anger would be an emotional force driving secession.

Also, even among those who don't want to secede there might be radical actions. As Boule states:

This was in line with comments from Roger Stone, a longtime adviser to Trump. In a recent interview with Breitbart’s Milo Yiannopoulos, Stone said that Trump should start talking “constantly” about the chance of voter fraud and a rigged election. “He needs to say for example, today would be a perfect example: ‘I am leading in Florida. The polls all show it. If I lose Florida, we will know that there’s voter fraud.’ ” Stone continued in this vein. “ ‘If there’s voter fraud, this election will be illegitimate, the election of the winner will be illegitimate, we will have a constitutional crisis, widespread civil disobedience, and the government will no longer be the government.’ ”

From here, Stone’s language gets ominous. “If you can’t have an honest election, nothing else counts,” he said. “The government will be shut down if they attempt to steal this and swear Hillary in. No, we will not stand for it. We will not stand for it,” Stone said, promising a “bloodbath” of “civil disobedience.”

If there is civil disorder we can expect that neo-Confederates very likely would act in a situation where government authority has broken down.

When Obama won the 2012 election there were slightly over 1,000,000 signatures on the secession petitions at the White House. I printed them out and added the signatures up. Some poll numbers in some Southern states then showed a very surprisingly high percentage of Republicans supporting secession. 

Roger Stone's comments are mentally preparing Trump supporters to engage in civil disobedience when Trump loses, which it appears he likely will. Though we won't know for sure until after the election results are in.

Things have gotten scary and I think that after November we will see the whole nation becoming a Maheur Refuge with lunatics waving guns.

Texas Nationalists I think are afraid that Donald Trump might win

Doesn't make much sense at all. It is common knowledge that it was establishment figures which were try to deny the Republican Party nomination to Donald Trump even though he won the primaries.

Also, the majority of delegates were clearly Trump supporters and unbinding delegates was a scheme to steal the nomination from him.

The Republican establishment did work to make sure that another faction didn't deny Trump his nomination. This is because if Trump was denied all hell would have probably broke loose and it would have been a riot. Also, Trump would have run as an independent. And the Republicans would have lost both houses of Congress, the presidency, and probably many other offices.

At conventions there is parliamentary maneuvering and given that there was a majority supporting Trump at the convention it seems reasonable there wasn't support for a measure that would have denied Trump his nomination.

The issue here is that if Donald Trump is elected the wind goes out of the Texas Nationalist Movement. The League of the South has no potential either if Trump is elected. The secessionists are upset and pouting about the whole thing.

Will Trump get elected? I don't know. If Trump is defeated in the November election then I think secessionists will thrive. I don't think that Trump will get elected, but I am afraid he might. The secessionists are afraid that he might get elected also.
