It took some time. It is about an hour long. I learned a lot of what to do and not do in making a video. The next video will be better. I also learned the software. I got more comfortable speaking infront of a cameria.

What James Ronald Kennedy (He has a twin who is a leading neo-Confederate) hopes is that there might develop a left/right alliance for secession and nullification.

This is not so fanciful. There was a left/right alliance against American overseas military adventures and some of the leftists were quite angry to be called out on it.

There are certainly a fair number of idiots who call themselves leftists who would support such an alliance for secession.

Nullification is an inanity which basically nullifies a nation's existence. If on some rationalization or some interpretation of the Constitution a state can nullify a federal law, you essentially don't have a nation. You just have 50 separate nations arising from the dissolution of the nation.

What is of interest is that the neo-Confederates are still on the prowl for some way to break up the nation. James Ronald Kennedy and his brother Walter Donald Kennedy get published in the Confederate Veteran, the official publication of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and have their books sold by this organization. The SCV has 30,000 members and significant resources and a headquarters which is substantial. This is not a group with a shack and a few members. They are able to promote ideas to a significant base.

The Abbeville Institute is also doing a reveal here. This is campaigning for the break up of the nation.

I have been discussing on this blog the Texas Nationalist movement. They are moribund at this time and will be until it starts appearing that Trump will not be able to carry out his agenda.

However, I think the neo-Confederates are perhaps also seeing hope for the revival of their agenda with the expected "blue wave" in which Democrats are expected to recapture control of the U.S. House. With the Democrats controlling the U.S. House the Democrats hope to undermine Donald Trump and go after Donald Trump in every and any way they can.

The group 538 looking at the polls sees a good chance that the Democrats will capture the House. They see a 6 out of 7 chance which is a really good chance. However as 538 states, it isn't 100% chance.

One thing the website shows is that with computers you can easily do all sorts of analyses. When I first started my engineering career, you did statistics with a pencil and paper or mechanical calculator if you were a student or an ordinary engineer. By the time of the end of my career I was routinely doing fairly sophisticated analysis with JMP software.

The U.S. Senate is expected to remain in the hands of the Republicans. Odds are 5 to 6.

So even if the U.S. House does fall into Democratic Party hands, it remains to be seen how much they can actually undermine Trump's agenda. I am sure they can certainly cause problems for Trump and I am very sure they can heat up the political situation even more than it is, a whole lot more.

However, the path of developments to support secession may work this way.

The Democrats in the U.S. House may not be able to hinder Trump as much as inflame an already quite polarized situation such that when in 2020 elections Trump is possibly defeated there will be a radicalized and really alienated base to support secession.

If the Democrats win in 2020 the so-called "left" secession movements will collapse. The right wing ones secessionist movements will start gaining support.

James Ronald Kennedy's idea of a left/right secession alliance developing is wrong. If the left is in control of the government the left secessionist movement will be moribund. If the right is in control of the government the right secession movements will be moribund. They won't be active at the same time.

However, I think Nov. 6, 2018 election will need to be over so we know what the political landscape. Also, it won't be until after Jan. 3, 2019 that we will know what the Democrats will be be doing. However, I think the Democrats have likely already been planning a fair amount as to what they want to do, so I think that the conflict with Trump will start immediately after Jan. 3, 2019.

However, between Nov. 6, 2018 to Jan. 3, 2019 there will likely be statements from the Democrats what they intend to do, speculation about what the Democrats will do, calls from groups as to what the Democrats should do, and right wing fear mongering on what the Democrats will do.

So between Nov. 6, 2018 and Jan. 3, 2019, I think secessionists will pick up some interest from the Trump base of supporters but not in terms of supporting secession. I think that the impetus of most Trump supporters will be to support Trump and not support secession. I think though privately they might give it some thought as I said, as a Plan B.

However, there is likely to be some Trump supporters which will decide that secession has become their option of choice and since the secession movements are somewhat small, even a very small fraction of the Trump base of supporters would be a big increase for the secessionist movement.

We are going to just have to wait until the evening of Nov. 6th or even the morning on Nov. 7th to see where things are heading.

My expectation is the Democrats will win control of the U.S. House and things will start heating up very shortly after the election results are known.

League of the South denounces the Kennedy brothers' "The South Was Right!"

Michael Hill, president of the League of the South has written a lengthy essay condemning the book, "The South Was Right!" by the Kennedy twin brothers, Walter Donald and James Ronald.

This was one of the founding books of the modern neo-Confederate movement.  Hill's criticism is to a large extent, as much as anything Hill would say could be, is correct.

The book "The South is Right!" is a defense of the Confederacy against charges of it being a racist enterprise.

The importance of this public condemnation isn't clear. The League of the South is a remnant organization and Hill and company, however many that might be, are desperate to get some notice for their organization. However, it might be a wedge strategy taking advantaged of a much more racially polarized environment, and the Sons of Confederate Veteran has been radicalizing and they read Frank Conner now, a really scary book which sees the civil rights movement as a Jewish conspiracy against American society.

Also, with Confederate flags, statues coming down, Confederate names being removed it might be that the neo-Confederate movement doesn't see much value in trying the old "Heritage not Hatred" song and dance.

Hill is somewhat hypocritical. The League of the South for years used to deny having any racial agenda. What is the cliche, "People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones."

There were two important books starting the neo-Confederate movement: "The South Was Right!" by the Kennedy twins and "Southern By The Grace of God" by Michael Andrew Grissom. Grissom has been more openly racist with his books, but has been in obscurity. The Kennedy twins books sell. However, I think there is a phase change going on in the neo-Confederate movement and Hill might have picked up on it. When I mean a phase change I mean a discreet break between one mode of things to another, like ice to water or water to steam.

Neo-Confederates may laugh, but Michael Hill might be a future Commander-in-Chief of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Okay, you can laugh now, but we live in the time of Trump. In a time of racial polarization the SCV may get pulled in a racist direction.

Regardless this is a good development. It is infighting of a serious nature among neo-Confederates. The League of the South will be a racist force pushing on the Sons of Confederate Veterans to be crazy like themselves. It could really discredit the neo-Confederate movement.

The cover article for May/June 2012 Confederate Veteran is “Lincoln, Federal Supremacy, and the Death of States’ Rights,” pages 16-22, 60-62, by James Ronald Kennedy, with a website www.kennedytwins.com.  Kennedy is one of the headline speakers at the 2015 Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV) National Reunion in Richmond, Virginia.

In an absolute monarchy or dictatorship such decision-making authority resides in the person of the king or dictator. In a mass democracy such as we have in contemporary America, sovereignty resides within the supreme Federal government. The Federal government is ultimately supreme – its will must be obeyed. “We the people” of the once-sovereign states now approach our masters in Washington, DC, as subjects, not citizens. We, like the subjects of a king or dictator, approach our government as supplicants, with outstretched hands pleading, “Please, may we have just a little more freedom or keep just a little more of our income?” [Italics in the original.] [pp. 22]

Few Anti-Federalists were able to envision the oppressive horror a centralized supreme Federal government would eventually compel Americans to endure. [pp. 22]

In this dark hour of American political history it is possible to see the potential for the 

reemergence of the ancient American political principle of real States’ Rights. [pp. 23]

James Ronald Kennedy recommends a passage of a constitutional amendment to solve what he sees is a problem. It is an amendment which would effectively dissolve national government in any state on the whim of that state. He doesn’t advocate violence. However, when you characterize the American government as an “oppressive horror” others might take other actions to what they perceive as a “horror.”

In the Sept./Oct. 2014 issue of Confederate Veteran, pp. 16-22, 24,56-62,64-65, is an article, “Our Re-United Country?: The Sad Reality of Reconciliation,” by James Ronald Kennedy and Walter Donald Kennedy, both headline speakers at the 2015 SCV National Reunion in Richmond.

The article is all about how the South is abused. The American government is a tyranny and Reconstruction isn’t an attempt to establish a multiracial democracy, but an oppression of the South, and the Kennedy’s specifically condemn scholars who think Reconstruction was a good thing.

We live in an era in which real states’ rights does not exist; we live in an era in which “we the people” of a free republic the once-sovereign states are no longer citizens of a free republic but are mere subjects to an all-powerful and supreme federal government.  [pp. 17]

After all, were they not at the mercy of a cruel and triumphant invader? After the War and during the active phase of Reconstruction, the South had no means of resistance to Federal tyranny. [pp. 17]

Rejecting that idea that secession was done to preserve slavery the Kennedys write:

“… the War was fought for Southern independence and to prevent the enslavement of all Southerners to an aggressive and evil Federal Empire – an empire which was determined to make political, economic, and social slaves of all Southerners, regardless of skin color. [pp. 21]

Notice that it is an “evil” Federal Empire and the capitalization of Empire.

On page 18 the Kennedys quote both Robert E. Lee and Alexander H. Stephens (VP of the Confederacy) warning that the loss of states’ rights would result in a despotism this enlisting both Confederate leaders and heroes to the members of the SCV in their claim that America is a despotism.

There are sections titled “Political Subjugation – the Price of Reconciliation,” “Economic Subjugation – the Price of Reconciliation,” and “Social Subjugation – the Price of Reconciliation,” and “Cultural Distortion – the Price of Reconciliation.”

Many people in the South do not believe the Confederacy was a good thing, support civil rights and are proud to be Americans. They are denounced in a section “Of Quislings, Vichymen and Scalaways – Soldiers of Reconciliation.” The Kennedys state:

Thus the reconciliation movement has provided the Federal Empire with legions of Southern cooperationists to help it maintain its rule – a rule of centralized Federal tyranny worst than the one that America’s Founding Fathers seceded from in 1776.” [pp. 60]

The Kennedys solution is their constitutional amendment they had printed in the May/June 2012 issue.
