Elvis Presley and the Confederacy and George Wallace

On the lighter side there is a shop in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania that sells Elvis memorabilia and it connects itself to the Civil War memory business on the basis of Elvis Presley's Confederate ancestors.

Elvis Presleywas a big supporter of George Wallace and his presidential campaigns. Dan T. Carter mentions it in his book, "The Politics of Rage" which is about the career of George Wallace. Elvis Presley got his start with African American audiences and used rock and roll taken from the African American community and after getting his start, backed racism. Sort of like Kid Rock.
