The "Southern Partisan" Confederate Republican Party T-shirt
This was sold some time ago by the Southern Partisan magazine. I purchased one. Before this t-shirt had been made the leaders of the Republican Party had already given interviews to the Southern Partisan: Jesse Helms, Trent Lott, Phil Gramm, Dick Armey and a lot of other Republicans. So making up this T-shirt wasn't so unreasonable. Many leading Republicans had also had also had dealings with the Council of Conservative Citizens. www.cofcc.org. I must have taken two dozen photos of this t-shirt.

U.S. Senator Rand Paul on Lincoln , is the GOP the party of Lincoln or Jefferson Davis?
U.S. Senator Rand Paul has shared his thoughts on Lincoln in response to the Jack Hunter controversy.
It is reported in this article online:
http://www.salon.com/2013/07/11/rand_paul_completely_mangles_lincoln/
Trent Lott explained to an interviewer for the Southern Partisan how the Republican Party was now the party of Jefferson Davis.
Is neo-Confederacy like a rising dampness, penetrating the conservative movement? Or is it an ideology that occasionally shows up in the conservative movement, but for which there is no general trend of neo-Confederacy being adopted by the conservative movement.
It might be that either scenario is a current possibility and the conservative movement, if it wishes not to be neo-Confederate needs to take strong measures to prevent that from happening.

Rich Lowry, editor at "National Review," writes an article on the Anti-Lincoln neo-Confederates Update:
Rick Lowry, editor at National Review magazine, had an article on the neo-Confederate anti-Lincolnites online at The Daily Beast. Lowry calls them "foul" and writes:
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2013/06/17/the-rancid-abraham-lincoln-haters-of-the-libertarian-right.html
What is interesting is that Lowry decided that this article needed writing. The anti-Lincoln campaign of the neo-Confederates has been going on for some time. I think this might be a sign that the anti-Lincoln campaign is going somewhere and the leadership of conservatism in America is beginning to get concerned.
Update: Rick Lowry has written a book on Lincoln as a conservative hero and also is criticizing Obama's appropriation of Lincoln for Obama's politics. So it is a tug of war over Lincoln. So maybe Rick brings up the neo-Confederate crowd to interest people in his book and not that he sees the anti-Lincolnites as having any political traction. There could be multiple explanations of his article.
Operationally, they are pro-Confederacy. Their influence shouldn't be exaggerated. The vast majority of people will never hear of them. They exist only as a small, but foul temptation on the Right. If American conservatism ever wants to commit suicide, they offer the ready means. And it begins with the root-and-branch rejection of Abraham Lincoln. The link to the article is:
